Rules for the Genesys Build to Earn Hackathon 2025
1. General Objective
The “Genesys Build to Earn: AI, Gaming, & DeFi Edition” hackathon aims to foster the creation of innovative blockchain solutions using the Blue20 network, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Gaming, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Supply Chain, and Decentralized Science. The event seeks to strengthen the Genesys Network community and promote the widespread adoption of the network while encouraging Web3 innovation.
2. Participation
Eligibility: Developers, teams, or individuals aged 18 or older may participate. Prior blockchain experience is not required, but technical and creative knowledge will be valued.
Format: The event is 100% virtual and will take place through platforms such as Discord, Telegram, and the Blue20 network.
Registration: Participants must register between April 1 and April 30, 2025, via the official Genesys Network website or designated platforms. Each team may consist of a maximum of 5 members.
Projects: Each team must submit an original project that fits into one or more of the main categories: AI, Blockchain Gaming, Decentralized DeFi, Supply Chain, or Community Building.
3. Project Development
Duration: Project development will occur from May 1st to June 30th, 2025 (60 days).
Tools: Participants must use the capabilities of the Blue20 network, including its APIs, SDKs, and smart contracts. The use of tools provided in pre-hackathon workshops will be encouraged.
Collaboration: Virtual collaboration sessions (via Discord/Telegram) are encouraged for sharing ideas and receiving feedback, but projects must be original and developed by the registered team.
Submission: Projects must be submitted by June 30, 2025, including a 10-minute pitch, a 5-minute Q&A session, a live demo, and detailed technical documentation. Pre-recorded pitches will be accepted to allow flexibility.
4. Categories and Evaluation Criteria
Categories: Projects must align with one or more of the following areas:
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Solutions integrating AI into DeFi, gaming, or the Blue20 network.
Blockchain Gaming: Play-to-Earn, Play-to-Own games, or metaverse experiences with sustainable economies.
Decentralized DeFi: Non-custodial protocols for lending, staking, yield farming, real-world assets.
Supply Chains: Blockchain-based logistics, transparency, and asset tracking.
Decentralized Sciences (DeSci): Open-access scientific research platforms and funding mechanisms.
Community Building: Tools or platforms that drive active participation in Blue20.
Real-World Assets (RWA): Tokenization of real estate, bonds, or physical assets on Blue20.
Zero-Knowledge Tech: Privacy-preserving applications leveraging ZK proofs.
Cross-Chain Interoperability: Solutions integrating with EVM & non-EVM chains.
Evaluation Criteria (weighed in %):
Innovation and Viability (35%) – Is it disruptive? Is it technically sound and scalable?
Impact on Blue20 (30%) – Does it add value to the ecosystem? Does it promote adoption of $GSYS and $BLDT?
Community Focus (20%) – Does it promote inclusion and active participation? Does it solve a real life problem?
Usability (15%) – Is it easy to implement and use?
5. Evaluation and Judges
Judges: Projects will be evaluated by a panel composed of prominent Web3 developers, financial experts, and entrepreneurs selected by Genesys Network and Blue20.
Process: Judges will review the pitches, responses to questions, and technical documentation during the evaluation phase (June 1–3, 2025).
6. Community Voting
Mechanism: Holders of $GSYS and $BLDT can vote for their favorite project through a voting DApp on the Blue20 network, opening on June 1, 2025.
Requirements: Each voter must hold at least 100 $GSYS and 100 $BLDT, which will be locked for 28 days in the DApp’s smart contract to ensure authenticity.
Transparency: Votes will be automatically counted via smart contracts, ensuring immutability and real-time visibility.
Gamification: Community members can earn voting rights through engagement and governance-based NFTs. A leaderboard will track top voters, with additional incentives for active participation.
Community Prize: The project with the most votes will receive special recognition and a promotional campaign on Genesys Network’s official channels.
